Each college student is assigned an academic advisor. Academic advisors can sometimes change the entire trajectory of a student’s academic and career choices which will impact them for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately many academic advisors at colleges and universities are challenged by large caseload. According to a survey by Driving Towards a Degree (2021) large caseloads have been one of the top three barriers to improving academic advising over the past three years. Therefore, you can’t expect the same amount of one-on-one attention you will receive from Vibe Coaches. Our Vibe coaches are committed to getting to know each student to understand their strengths and interests. We want to teach each student how to make informed decisions about their lives and be their best advocates.
1st Year (Freshman) College Student
Being a freshman on a college campus can be scary and exciting. This is time for self-discovery, mistakes, and learning. During a student’s first year on campus they are learning how to find their friend group, perform and study at a higher academic level, manage their time, and utilize campus resources. This is a lot of change to navigate and the Vibe coaches can be your compass. We can point students and families in the right direction when they are lost.
